Could a PPI refund help clear your debts? Only 12 months left to find out…

Tired of annoying adverts and sketchy phone calls about PPI claims? Then you’ll be glad to hear that the cut-off date for making a Payment Protection Insurance claim is getting closer.

With so much information – and misinformation – flying around about PPI claims, it’s easy to forget just how much a PPI refund could actually help you. Gregory Pennington customers have benefitted from thousands of pounds of refunds they were owed due to PPI mis-selling. And even if you’ve already made a claim and been rejected, you could do this too. But there are only 12 months left to get your claim in.

The deadline

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) decided it won’t allow any PPI claims after the cut-off date of 29th August 2019. That’s less than a year away! Many people entitled to PPI refunds will wait until 2019 to get their claim in, meaning a huge queue. So if you think you might have a claim, you’ll want to act fast.

New rules mean you may be entitled to a refund even if you’ve previously been rejected

Following a court case, there is a new kind of PPI claim under what are called the Plevin rules.

The Plevin rules are all about commission. A lot of the payments made as ‘PPI’ were actually paid as commission to the lender. On average, lenders kept 67% of PPI paid on loans! If more than 50% of the PPI you paid went on commission, and your lender didn’t tell you that, you could get back everything over that 50%.

If you've already made a claim and been rejected you may still be entitled to a refund under the Plevin rules. Hundreds of thousands of borrowers have already made successful claims.
