Money worries cause `anxiety overload` in young adults
The survey found that women seemed to be the most affected, with one in three suffering `frequent anxiety`, compared with just one in ten men.
45% of respondents gave `money worries` as the main reason for suffering from anxiety, suggesting that many young people are still concerned about debt and other financial issues, despite news of an economic recovery.
This isn`t the first time this issue has `made the headlines`. For example, in September, the BBC reported on figures from the campaign group London Health Forum which showed that around 250,000 Londoners suffer from mental health problems because of debt.
The Forum`s `London Capital of Debt` report found that nearly one million Londoners suffer from mental health problems - and around 25% of these are worried about debt.
The group highlighted the importance of seeking early debt advice to deal with debt, and suggested that the NHS should ask local GPs to encourage people to seek debt advice sooner rather than later.
