38 million `plan to change financial habits`
In a survey looking into attitudes towards personal finances, the price comparison website found that the majority of people will aim to curb activity that could lead to debt problems.
Just over 9 million people will review their finances more regularly, says uSwitch, while over 7 million will save more and spend less. Meanwhile, almost 2 million parents will take more time to educate their children about finance.
A spokesperson for debt management company Gregory Pennington said: "It`s encouraging to see that so many people are planning to take extra care with their finances.
"Debt has become a problem for increasing numbers of people in recent years, and while many can solve the problem by cutting back, a lot of people simply can`t afford to repay their debts as they originally planned. Anyone in that situation should not hesitate to speak with a debt adviser."
