Insolvency Service launches new website
4 August 2011
The Insolvency Service has launched a new website, with helpful information, news and statistics about insolvency. You can visit the site here.
It could be very useful for anyone considering, or going through, insolvency, as well as professionals looking for information.
From the home page, you can search for an IP (Insolvency Practitioner) near to where you live, or find out how to make a complaint about your current IP.
The bankruptcy section features advice on bankruptcy debt, explaining the process of bankruptcy and what you could expect.
It's also possible to check whether someone is a disqualified director or a bankrupt, as well as make a complaint about them.
The website features information about other forms of insolvency, including Debt Relief Orders (DROs); including a helpful Q&A about whether a DRO could be right for your situation.
The Credit Rating section features FAQs explaining how credit reference agencies work, how to obtain a copy of your personal credit file and how insolvency would affect your credit rating.
And the guide 'In Debt - dealing with your creditors' could be useful for anyone struggling with debt.
