About us
Our history
Gregory Pennington is one of the UK's largest and longest established debt management companies with almost 20 years' experience providing debt management plans. Over that time we've helped around 200,000 people get out of debt and get on with their lives.
Our reputation
We are one of the founder members of DEMSA (the Debt Managers Standards Association) and committed to protecting the interests of the public and the lenders to whom they owe money. The DEMSA code of conduct is approved by the OFT (Office of Fair Trading) Consumer Codes Approval Scheme, so you know that you're getting the highest standard of advice and practical help within the debt management industry. Our use of the OFT Code Approved logo on this website demonstrates that we 'go the extra mile' – doing more than the law requires to safeguard our clients' interests.
"Consumers can now be confident that where they see the OFT Approved Code logo they will be treated fairly."
John Fingleton, OFT Chief Executive
Our awards and accreditations
As part of the Think Money Group we've achieved many awards and accreditations for the way we do business, the training we provide and the ethos of the 900 people who work here.
We're delighted to have made the Sunday Times 'Best 100 companies to work for' for the last five consecutive years. Most recently we've won two categories and one commendation in the Payroll Giving awards, demonstrating our commitment to 'giving something back'.
Our charities
Our charities range from the local to the international - from small ways we can make a difference to large life-changing projects costing many thousands of pounds. We've raised over £321,000 since 2006 to support a variety of charities through our Payroll Giving and fundraising projects.
Jubilee Action Rwanda
As part of our commitment to help the children orphaned by the genocide in Rwanda we've singlehandedly raised the funds to build, staff and run a deaf centre and vocational training centre. Working in tandem with the charity Jubilee Action we now have over 70 children living full time within the deaf centre complex who are given specialist education and care by the five teachers and the 42 community mentors on the premises. As a result 6 children are now able to attend the mainstream school whilst others are currently undergoing hearing tests and fittings for free hearing aids when appropriate.
Our vocational centre offers skills training for young adults, many of whom care for orphaned children in child-headed households. One of the current schemes underway is a potato growing project that provides the money to buy equipment, cropping potato seeds and land, ideally creating a sustainable source of income for years to come.
Seashell Trust, Greater Manchester
One project a little closer to home involved raising £20,000 to purchase a wheelchair accessible vehicle for the Seashell Trust; a school for students with deafness and communication disorders. This enables them to participate in more outdoor activities and will soon be complemented by our next assignment - to raise another £20,000 for safe playground equipment.
Touchbase Centre, Glasgow
Run by 'Sense' Scotland, Touchbase specialises in helping children and adults with varying levels of communication support requirements and provides a much-needed resource for disabled people, their families and the local community. We provide hands-on help at the centre and donations through payroll giving, plus work placement opportunities for students interested in joining us.
